Welcome to Gothasoft

  • Member/product system is online

After a lengthy development period we are proud to announce that our official members/products/gateway system is now functional and online!  This system will allow visitors to create an account, purchase a product then have their account upgraded automatically so that they may enter that product's download area. Customers may return and download their purchases any time they wish, grab updates or check out different products.

These accounts will never expire so your purchase will remain online for the lifetime of Gothasoft. Our new system is portable, so in the future if there is ever a need for us to change hosts we can simply 'move' the customers database to a new host and not lose any customers log-in/purchase information. Also worth noting, members that purchase a product will automatically be added to that products 'News-Feed' . When ever the product is updated or new information becomes available concerning the purchased product - the customer will be notified and they can log-in and download the products update.

Click the 'My Products' links on the toolbar to enter the area. Also, if your a returning customer from the old website and have purchased a product in the past, please Contact Us with your previous purchase information and we will upgrade your account within our new system. . . .  [readmore]

  • Christmas Chaos re-visited!

We entered a game competition in 2001 within the B3d community. There were approximately 20 entries that were completed and submitted. The competition was to create a short 3d-game with a Christmas theme. We only had about 3 weeks to complete the task so we had to work fast.

When all was said and done our entry had tied for 1st place and we had won a share of the prize.

Eight years have passed since we created this Christmas game (wow where does time go!)  and we thought it might be fun to dig up the game and re-release it to the public for old times sake. After digging through my archives of endless code  I had finally located the game directory.  I quickly loaded it up to have a play, to my surprise it just didn't work.  New computers, newer gpu drivers etc.. the game just wouldn't run in it's original state.  I decided then and there this could not be! I begin to evaluate the code and find the areas that were throwing the exception errors. It didn't take long, a few days at most, to complete the task and restore this game to a runnable state on modern hardware.

Screenshots and the free download are HERE

Have fun playing Christmas Chaos and Merry Christmas from the Gothateam. . . .  [readmore]

  • Website transformation

It's took a little more than a month now but things are starting to get back to normal around here. The host and website change has been a huge undertaking. The old gothasoft was running on WINserver's so the change to apache was not as simple as copying over the databases and transfering the scripts.  Sadly I was unable to achieve all I wanted as the databases were too much to port over to the new system. I hesitantly accepted the loss of the user base and moved on ( not that there was a choice to be made ).

Now things are up and running, users are once again signing up for gotha accounts and the products are once again live. With this website bussiness nearly finished we can finally get back to what we enjoy the most, making tools and game software.

Look for more soon! . . .  [readmore]
